It's Been a While

My apologies for the lack of updates. Life has been happening and sometimes with that comes inspiration, but more often than not, it takes it away.

One of the girls in my line of view that is constantly inspiring me is my friend Nicky. I shot her a while back for a different online publication, but I kept this particular set especially for Purrpuss. Her music duo Rose Gold has a new single that you should all check out!

It's hard for me to articulate the right words to say in regards to recent events in our country. I know how I feel but I also know that how I feel (as a white girl) isn't even comparable to what many others are feeling. When I look at Nicky I see a strong, beautiful, talented, bi-racial, black woman. When I speak to Nicky I laugh at her jokes, empathize with her insecurities, and relate to her aspirations. I can relate to her as a woman but I will never understand what her, and all other black women, go through on a day-to-day basis in life. What I can do is listen, learn, and stand next to my black friends as an ally to them and the #BLACKLIVESMATTER movement.

Stay educated. Think for yourself. Do whatever the fuck you want just don't hurt anyone.
